Gray Whale Adventure Islands and Whales Broken Group Islands Nature Tour Since 1978 Subtidal Adventures has specialised in nature cruises and whale watching in Barkley Sound on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Starting with the spring northern migration of the Gray whales our season begins in March. After the migration ends (late April) we switch to summer resident Grays with a couple of different cruises specifically catered to their changing feeding locations. Over the last few years we have been lucky to have Humpback whales frequent our area. Orcas Harbour and Dall's porpoise are also seen on occasion and sea lions and seals are seen on almost every trip.
