Our journey will follow the coastal migration of gray whales and will trace routes taken by early Spanish explorers along the peninsula's Pacific coast. We will go ashore and explore four islands along the west coast of Baja California Todos Santos San Benito Cedros and San Martin. Our southernmost destination will be Laguna San Ignacio. This is an incredible lagoon its shores are lined in mangrove channels deep stretches of salt marsh and expanses of coastal fog desert. On our 10-day expeditions we have one more spectacular surprise--a day of mystery--a day when Captain McEwen sets course for an area that has not been explored allowing us an unprecedented opportunity to truly discover- Staff oceanographers and field biologists will present a truly fine program during all expeditions incorporating natural history oceanography island and coastal biology animal behaviour and more |
