Imagine
A 4 hour daily whalewatch from June 1st to July 31st The Humpback Whales are migrating North at this time of year and come very close inshore off Port Stephens to get out of the southerly current which streams close inshore.
As the Humpbacks only swim at about 3-4 knots when migrating and the current sometimes moves at this speed it is essential for them to get out of it to make headway.
The Mothers and calves start to return about mid Oct-mid Nov. This is an interesting time and the sightings go up to about 50% because most of the mothers with newborns bring the calves very close to the shore on their first trip
Humpback calves are weened at about 10 months. By the way did you know the calves suckle over 300 litres of milk a day during this time!!!
Imagine is a large 15 metre Crowther designed Ocean going sailing Big Cat with a capacity for 40 guests so we don't have the crowds.
